 Deer

This was my first attempt at watercolor since high school, that’s a very long time ago. I was never really good at watercolor; I’m much more of an oil painter. I had a 16 x 20 clay board, craft quality cake watercolors and a ‘lets play’ attitude. This was the result. I did add acrylic highlights in the branches as well as the grass in the foreground. This was not the result I was hoping for, I wanted a more “watercolory” look, this looks closer to an oil or acrylic painting.

Week 4_Terry Statue
My first attempt at turning someone into a statue. I like the result, but it’s not quite what I was going for. I’ll have to do another one sometime.

Hawk 0

I usually don’t see many hawks in my part of South Jersey let alone having one drop down in my backyard.  Yesterday this hawk did just that.  A rarity for sure, and to have one hang around long enough to photograph was my lucky day. Then along comes this squirrel!   I didn’t think this was going to end well for the squirrel.  I don’t know what hawks eat, but either this one was full or doesn’t eat squirrel. Either way I have the feeling I wasn’t the only one lucky that day.

Bird, Bulb and Broken Shutter

Week 1_Bird, Bulb and Broken Shutter

This is the first attempt working in a new medium for me, scratchboard. I love this stuff!
In case you don’t know, scratchboard is a piece of hardboard coated with a layer of white clay that is covered by a layer of black India ink. All you have to do is use a sharp instrument; I used an Exacto knife, and scratch the black off thus revealing a white line.

I’m taking a photo a day for the entire year of 2011. To make this daunting task a bit easier and a lot more fun, I and several other photographers are doing it together. To make PAD (photo a day) even better we added two types of challenges, Weekend Object Challenges and Week long Technical Challenges.  Object Challenges are when we pick an object i.e. “Shadows” or “Light Bulbs” and try to get as creative of a shot as we can. Technical Challenges are we shoot only in Black and White or use Depth of Field etc. for an entire week.

Anti-xmas

Here’s my latest “bad-amation”. This means it is drawn poorly and animated poorlier. I did not want to spend a lot of time on it, and I didn’t. The concept is corrupt and the graphics are disturbing. If this was rated it would be TV- M A L V S U C K and so you propably should watch it.
